On some vehicles with rear disc brakes, the inside hat of the rotor acts as a small drum brake system. Servicing your parking brake system may involve replacing springs that have stretched or broken. A parking brake service kit includes parking brake parts like springs, retainers and clips to replace worn out parts of the system. For those drag racers who want to run 15 inch or 16 inch rear drag wheels on your MKIV TT! In order to do this you've found out by now that your rear drag wheels do not clear your factory TT brakes. The solution is to switch to NA (non-turbo) rear brakes, which consists of calipers, rotors, pads and install kit. You can search the net for a used set of NA rear brakes and have to rebuild them. Using a clip remover, disconnect the skid control sensor wire harness clip from the clamp. Remove the 4 bolts and cable retainer from the body. Disconnect the parking brake cable assy no.3 From the equalizer, and remove the parking brake cable assy no.3. Then the key is to also remove the black plastic housing on rear side of the caliper assemble that electrically tightens the calipers, with 2 small metric screws with the 5 mm socket, Note how little force is required to remove the 2 bolts holding the electric assemble form the brakes. You should not need tools to remove the electric assembly. I have a 2008 mazda 3 with 2.3 litre and 4 wheel disk brakes. Changing the rear brake pads and turning rotors. I have the brake fluid cap off but still cannot compress the caliper. Any suggestions ple read more.
NOTE: If any work is done on the brake system or if air is suspected in the brake lines, bleed the system of air.
CAUTION: Do not let brake fluid remain on a painted surface. Wash it off immediately.
1. FILL BRAKE RESERVOIRS WITH BRAKE FLUID
Check the reservoir after bleeding each wheel. Add fluid, if necessary.
2. BLEED MASTER CYLINDER
NOTE: If the master cylinder was disassembled or if the reservoir tank becomes empty, bleed the air from the master cylinder.
(a) Disconnect the brake tubes from the master cylinder.
(b) Depress the brake pedal and hold It.
(c) Block off the outlet plug with your finger, and release the brake pedal.

CONNECT VINYL TUBE TO BRAKE CYLINDER BLEEDER PLUG
Insert other end of the tube in a half-full container of brake fluid.
(a) Slowly pump the brake pedal several times.
(b) While having an assistant press on the pedal, loosen the bleeder plug until fluid starts to runout Then close the bleeder plug.
(c) Repeat this procedure until there are no more air bubbles in the fluid.

CHECK AND ADJUSTMENT OF PARKING BRAKE
1. CHECK THAT PARKING BRAKE LEVER TRAVEL IS CORRECT
Pull the parking brake fever all the way up, and count the notches of lever travel.
Parking brake lever travel at 20 kg (44.1 lb, 196 N):
5-8 clicks
If incorrect, adjust the parking brake.
2. IF NECESSARY, ADJUST PARKING BRAKE
NOTE: Before adjusting the parking brake, make sure that the rear brake shoe clearance has been adjusted.
For shoe clearance adjustment, see step 10 on page BR-3&
